Willing to Have a Conversation about Suicide?

September is National Suicide Awareness Month in the United States and a conversation about suicide can save a life. Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death for 24-35 year olds and 3rd leading cause of death for 15-24 year olds. Suicide knows no boundaries. Regardless of social, religious, cultural background it is a high probability that you know someone who has completed suicide or know someone who has been affected by the death of a loved one by suicide.

Social stigma around mental health issues are even more pronounced when suicide enters the conversation. If you knew you could save a life or help someone stand in the grief of the aftermath of suicide, would you want to know how to do that.

If the answer is yes, then read this blog from Soul Care Collective, an online community of writers committed to encouraging individuals in personal soul care, which I am privileged to be a member. I ask you to join in the conversation to start having conversations about suicide. Have conversations with families and loved ones affected by suicide. You can make a difference.
